Pictures of Trillium, a.k.a. Bethroot, (Trillium species)

There are hundreds of Trillium species available for purchase at nurseries today.  Most of these varieties are created from the Large-flowered (Trillium grandiflorum).  In history it was used in child birth, hence the name Bethroot (a corruption of "birth" root).  As part of the Lily family it is distinctively known for it's three whorled leaves, on one stalk, with one - three petaled flower that appears above the leaves in early spring.

What kinds of areas can Bethroot be found in?
These flowers love part shade and good rich soil.  It is mostly found in rich wooded areas.

Are you harvesting (a.k.a wildcrafting)?  Traditionally the entire plant was harvested and used. When I've harvested I always waited for it to go to seed and planted the seeds in the same place that I harvested the plant.

Would you like to use my pictures?  I have a solution that would be wonderful for both of us. You are free to right click and copy my photographs.  I ask that you give a visible link back to this page in the same location as the picture.  Once it is set up on your website send me a note and I'll put a link to your page, on the picture page - as someone legally using my photos.  This would give both of us reciprocal links, which search engines love.

Here's what I require:
*  Right click and copy the image to your own computer.  When you are loading it on your page upload the picture to your own server.  In other words - please do not use the link location thereby using my bandwidth.

*  Do not edit the picture in any way - except for size, always keep the aspect ratio.  Please leave my copyright information on the image.  All my images are formated to be under 100 kb.

*  Your site must not contain offensive material and must somehow be related to herbs.

*  If you are using this in written material I will require seeing a copy of the material (with the placement of the picture) before I give my approval.  We can exchange mailing information along with copyright use / sale via eMail.
