The Herbal Index

In the Herbal Index it is my goal to collect and provide as much herbal information as I can - all in one place.  The entire purpose of this page is to provide an Index for the Herb Detail pages on this web site.  I have divided this alphabetically, and then on the left, by Common Name - on the right, Botanical Name.  Also found in the Common Name section will be other, well known alternate names (such as daffodil and jonquil) making it a little easier to find the herb you are looking for.  This entire section of the Herbal How To Guide is totally a labor of love for me and I expect to be working on this for the rest of my life (ha, ha).  The Herbal Index and all the herb pages will be CONSTANTLY updated and worked on.  Take a moment to subscribe to the RSS feed (on the left) you'll be notified as soon as something new has been added to any of the pages.

Most of the pictures you'll see is my own photography.  If needed I'll be asking for permission to print other's pictures and will always provide a link when that is done.  If you know of a good photographer, that wouldn't mind a link and exposure, please contact me about using their herbal pictures.  I will be asking for a link back in return.

On the Herb Detail Pages you will find; 1) Identification and / or Cultivation Information, 2) the Rich History (much of it steeped in Magic and Folklore), 3) current Medicinal and Aromatherapy Information, 4) Culinary (when appropriate) often including Recipes, and 5) a full Reference section.

I am only one person and I fully understand that one person cannot possibly find all the information available on herbs and present it in one Herbal Index.  For this reason alone I am including other sites that are doing an awesome job at presenting information about herbs and alternative medicine.

Wikipedia - I have often found myself relying on Wikipedia for herbal information.  Simply type your subject in their search bar (on the left) and go.  I especially like the fact that they require documentation of what's being said - or use a disclaimer to tell you that the 'opinion' is not a documented fact.

DigHerbs - A delightful site filled with some very good herbal information.  It is easy to find what you're looking for.

Did you find what you were looking for?
