Advertising
Guidelines
These
Advertising Guidelines are to help you best understand the kinds of ads
I accept on the Herbal How To Guide. It isn't that I'm some
sort
of control freak (ha, ha) - rather I want you to get the best
advertising possible for the money you are spending. No one
(not
even Google) can guarantee clicks, traffic or orders - but knowing you
have a real person behind the scenes working on best
placement is a lot more than many websites offer.
This
site is growing in readership and content. Many of my viewers
keep coming back to read and learn and because of this they spend time
on each page. I am registered with all the main search
engines,
regularly resubmit content and each page on the website is focused on a
single theme.
Advertising Guidelines: What you can expect.
I
limit the amount of advertising on my site and your ad is NOT in
rotation. When you buy a spot - that spot is completely yours
for the amount of time you paid for. Not only do I want
the viewer to feel comfortable reading the information, I also want my
advertisers to get the best possible exposure. It's a fact that
viewers turn OFF advertising if there's too much of it. By
limiting the amount of advertising YOU are benefiting from an audience
that is truly interested.
I research each and every ad
- even the ones that have been on my site for a while. Typing
mistakes happen and I don't want you to spend money for an ad that
doesn't lead to the exact location you intended. This is also
a
security measure to make sure what's being advertised is actually
what's being sold (and no viruses accidentally crept in).
Point blank - I care about both my viewers and my advertisers.
Your advertising must be targeted to the kind of audience I have.
For example: I'm not going to put up an ad for new cars on a
page
that's talking about soap. Sure, soap makers buy cars - but
by
controlling the relevance of the ads - the viewers deem the pages and
advertising as being more important and worth while. You, as
an
advertiser, can count on warm traffic that is actually looking
for what you provide.
If you
have any questions
about the relevance of your ad, even after viewing these Advertising
Guidelines, you
can contact me here.
Advertising Guidelines: Payment. You will be making your payment through PayPal. This DOES
NOT mean you need a PayPal account. You can use your credit
card
and not sign up for PayPal. After your payment is made I will
contact you using the eMail address from PayPal. Please make sure this address is
correct.
The eMail I send you will have further instructions for
sending
your ad and link. After you send your ad and link I will have
a
look at it. Your ad will either be placed (if relevant), we
will
talk about a possible better location, or you will receive a note
telling you the ad can't be placed, why it can't and a FULL refund.
Except
on weekends and holidays my first eMail contact to you is within 24
hours.
It is not an automatic eMail - you deserve a real person
right
from the start! If you haven't gotten an eMail, in a
reasonable
amount of time, PLEASE check your SPAM folder. If
nothing is there please contact me. The internet is not
perfect and it may be that my eMail to you got lost.
Your ad begins
it's time count down when it is placed and you will receive an eMail
the same day so you know exactly how long it will run.
Your
ad must be in picture format - .JPG or .GIF. Double check the
link you want the ad to point to. But don't worry, with both of
us working together your information will be correct.
I will periodically check your ad through it's run time. I've seen many strange situations
with the Internet! If I see a problem I will
contact you immediately so things can be fixed.
Advertising Guidelines: What
ads can and can't be placed?
Please
make sure your product / service / offer is herbal - natural related.
I am always open to new ideas. Here's some ideas to help you
decide if your offer is relevant. Please don't limit your
thoughts to this list, it is just meant to get you thinking.
If
you make jewelery and have a flower pendant - that's okay, make sure
your link points directly to that pendant. If you make
jewelery
and are selling diamond rings - that's not herbal related.
If
you are a painter and paint nature (plants) - that's okay, make sure
your link points to a beautiful depiction of herbs. If you
are a
painter and paint race cars - that's not herbal related.
Natural, hand-made soaps and toiletries are wonderful.
Cosmetic companies, that aren't natural, isn't relevant.
Websites, eZines, eMail groups, magazines, books, etc. about herbs and
natural products are great.
Nature Centers, Botanical Gardens, Garden Clubs and other nature
related organizations and services fit perfectly.
Gardening products, composting products, yard products all fit with
this theme.
---------
No pharmaceuticals, miracle drugs, cure all herbal products, or diet
plans.
No alcohol or tobacco products.
No dating services, no sexual or hate related content.
No current events or politics.
No
purely religious sites, however if your religious site also includes
natural products or discussions about our natural world - I will
consider it. Religion can be a sticky topic and I will have
to
review each 'religious' site very closely.
